Amazon Web Services Inc. (AWS), today announced that four new enterprise software vendors are now “all in” on the Amazon cloud.
The new companies choosing AWS for the core infrastructure platform backing their Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings include: MicroStrategy, Software AG, TIBCO and Onshape. Software AG, a German software vendor, announced last month that it was moving its entire cloud portfolio over to AWS.
Terry Wise, AWS executive, stated that cloud computing is becoming the norm in IT. “Companies expect software products and applications to be accessible in the cloud in a way that is secure, always accessible, and instantly accessible from anywhere around the globe.” ISVs need a cloud platform that supports their current and future solutions.
AWS claims it provides infrastructure in the cloud to help software vendors focus on innovative customer solutions, rather than managing compute, storage, analytics, and application deployment services.
AWS stated that the cloud is the preferred method to deliver enterprise IT solutions to customers all over the world because it offers a level security, availability, and global accessibility that is hard to replicate in traditional IT environments. AWS cloud allows technology partners to leverage AWS’s global scale and broad platform capabilities to quickly innovate and meet the needs of enterprise customers all over the globe by building their solutions on it.
